This listing is for a lovely 19th century Stevens & Williams Stourbridge Art Glass vaseline Art Glass bowl with vaseline glass threading and clear glass rigaree in fitted silverplated stand, c. Considered a bon-bon or sweetmeat dish, this beautifully designed and decorated example of Stevens & Williams threaded or "reeded"art glass is a great example of this type English glass.
John Northwood invented the threading machine at Stevens & Williams in 1880. This dish has a vaseline glass body with vaseline glass threading, a lovely upper scalloped rim and applied rigaree band around the body where it sits in the silverplated stand. This piece is simply gorgeous and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The silverplate stand is marked "EPNS" and is in very good condition with no noted damage. The stand measures 6" high and 6 1/2" in diameter.
